In order to realise the targets outlined in the 2021-2030 WHO NTD Global Road Map, countries are encouraged to develop comprehensive multi-year ‘Master Plans’ for the control of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) which will serve as an essential component for effective planning and implementation of sustainable NTD programmes.
Each national NTD Master Plan is intended to provide programme goals, objectives and a 3–5-year strategy based on extensive situation analysis, and to address all components of the NTD programmes relevant to the country. Over the course of 2021-2022, GLIDE supported Malawi to develop its NTD Master Plan 2023-2026.
