Cameroon has a population of approximately 27 million, with 60% of the population at risk of onchocerciasis infection and 20% of the population currently infected. Despite ongoing efforts, onchocerciasis remains endemic in all ten regions of the country
In 2022, GLIDE began working with the Ministry of Health in Cameroon to gain deeper insights into community attitudes and perspectives towards mass drug administration (MDA) of ivermectin. The goal of the project is to identify new ways to enhance community engagement and support the Onchocerciasis Program through evidence-based decision making.
