The study aimed to enhance the adoption of infectious disease surveillance methods, including monitoring of vector breeding sites, in a tropical rainforest setting, through climate-based forecasting models to aid local policy-making. The study also established robust protocols for data collection and processing to develop early warning systems for the Spread of vector-borne diseases in the Peruvian Amazon.
