In 2022, GLIDE launched its second iteration of the Falcon Awards for Disease Elimination – The Climate Edit in an effort to expand the evidence base on the intersection between climate change and infectious diseases. Nine projects were selected to conduct six-month formative research projects, the results were presented in a Compendium of Research in 2023. The study used a mixed-methods design involving a literature review and in-depth interviews with 29 key informants to address gaps in current practices for sharing climate data in Mozambique. The study also aimed to identify barriers and enablers to leveraging climate data for preparedness and describe actions or interventions underway by the national health system and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to improve sharing and use of climate data for outbreak preparedness and response.
