As GLIDE marks five years of work in infectious disease elimination, we’re thrilled to launch our redesigned website, which serves as both a reflection of our journey and a glimpse into our bold vision for the future. To celebrate this milestone, we’re excited to share five highlights from our new website that capture the heart of GLIDE’s work and invite you to join us on the journey toward a world free of preventable infectious diseases.

1. A New Look

Our newly refreshed website features a new look and feel, that hopefully makes it easier for visitors to navigate and learn more about the Institute. From revised menu bar options, less scrolling, and intuitive categorization of information and resources, we hope that this more comprehensive, yet streamlined website allows current and potential partners to leave with a clear sense of who GLIDE is, what we do, and how we do it.

2. What We Do

GLIDE started its operations in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in its early days, learned through partners. We formed early partnerships with entities such as The Carter Center, Sightsavers, the Africa Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), and the Malawi Ministry of Health to start identifying where we could add value to disease elimination efforts and help catalyze action. Since then, we have evolved our model to ensure that we are working closely with our partners to co-develop initiatives and share lessons learned across diseases and sectors.

We invite you to explore the full range of our initiatives that showcase our efforts to add to the body of knowledge and accelerate infectious disease elimination.

3. Where We Work

Though based in Abu Dhabi, GLIDE has a global footprint, working across the globe in countries where its current diseases of focus are endemic. We are pleased to unveil a new, interactive map of our initiatives, showcasing not only the span of our work, but also the breadth of our partnerships. The map also shows regional work, which may imply a larger country footprint than we have (i.e., our work with ALMA in the Sahel). We also have differentiated between currently active and completed initiatives, to give a better sense of our portfolio at any given point in time.

4. Revised Resources

As an Institute, GLIDE cares deeply about generating and sharing knowledge that will help accelerate progress towards infectious disease elimination. In order to facilitate this, we’ve redeveloped our ‘Resources’ page to make it easier to find publications, now searchable by type, year, and topic. This section is part of our commitment to advancing the body of knowledge about infectious disease elimination – from integration and economics, to understanding community attitudes and advocacy for elimination.

6. Where To Find Us

Finally, we’ve made it easier than ever to get involved with GLIDE and our mission. Our refreshed ‘News & Media’ and ‘Events’ pages easily highlight our upcoming activities at global and regional conferences and provides a one-stop-shop to find out the latest about our work.

We hope that this refreshed website makes it easier for you to join us on the journey of elimination and invite you to share your feedback as you peruse the website.
